Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Cloudless Cam app (“the App”) handles information. The App is a viewer for cameras you already own, on the network you already control. It has no servers, and nothing it sees is sent to us.

Summary

  • The App collects no personal information.
  • The App contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
  • The App has no accounts and no sign-in.
  • Video and audio are streamed directly from your camera to your device over your local network. They are never relayed, recorded, or uploaded anywhere.
  • Camera passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
  • The App has no in-app purchases and no payment of any kind.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share:

  • Your name, email, or any account credentials (the App has no accounts)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports or diagnostics beyond Apple’s own system reporting, which you control in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA) — the App does not request app-tracking permission
  • Your location
  • Any video, audio, or still image from your cameras

What the App stores on your device

  • Camera addresses and names you have connected to, so they appear in your list. These are kept in the App’s own preferences and never leave the device.
  • Camera usernames and passwords, kept in the iOS Keychain. Addresses are always stored stripped of credentials; the two are never written to preferences together. Keychain items are marked available only after first unlock and are excluded from iCloud sync and from transfer to another device.
  • Snapshots you choose to save, which are written to your photo library and are thereafter governed by your own Photos settings.

Deleting the App removes its preferences. To remove a saved password without deleting the App, remove the camera from your list.

Network access

The App requests the Local Network permission. iOS requires this for any local traffic, including the video stream itself — without it, the App cannot connect to a camera at all.

The App uses that access to:

  • Look for ONVIF cameras on the subnet you ask it to scan
  • Connect to the cameras you choose, to fetch and play their streams
  • Send pan/tilt/zoom commands to cameras that support them, when you press those controls

All of this traffic goes to your cameras, on your own network. The App has no remote access feature, no relay, no broker, and no cloud component — and by design it never will. There is no server operated by us for the App to talk to.

Photos

The App asks for permission to add photos, and only at the moment you first save a snapshot — not at launch. This is add-only access: the App cannot read, browse, or modify your existing photo library. If you decline, everything except saving snapshots continues to work.

Camera credentials

Any username and password you enter is used solely to authenticate to that camera. It is sent only to the camera at the address you provided, and only over your local network. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Third-party services

The App integrates no third-party services, SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.

Children

The App is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
