Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Pool Log app (“the App”) handles information. The App is designed so that no personal data leaves your device.

Summary

  • The App collects no personal information.
  • The App contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
  • All test results, pool configuration, chemical additions, expenses, and notes are stored locally on your device.
  • iCloud sync is optional and, when enabled, only syncs your data between your own Apple devices via your private iCloud account.
  • Weather lookups use a postal code you provide — the App never requests your device location.
  • In-app purchases are handled by Apple’s App Store; the App never sees your payment details.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share:

  • Your name, email, or any account credentials (the App has no accounts)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports or diagnostics beyond Apple’s own system reporting, which you control in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA) — the App does not request app-tracking permission
  • Your device location

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync in the App’s settings, your pool data is synced between your own Apple devices using your private iCloud account. The data flows directly between your devices via Apple’s CloudKit service; the App’s developer cannot access it. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the App’s settings.

Weather data

When weather tracking is enabled, the App fetches current and historical weather data using the postal code you enter for each pool. The App does not request location permission and does not see your device’s GPS coordinates. The postal code is sent to Apple’s WeatherKit service to retrieve forecasts; Apple’s WeatherKit privacy terms govern that exchange.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. The App receives a signed receipt confirming whether you have an active Premium subscription, but does not see your payment details, name, address, or billing information.

Third-party services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external systems the App communicates with are:

  • Apple’s App Store — for in-app purchase verification
  • Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit — only if you enable iCloud sync
  • Apple’s WeatherKit — only if you enable weather tracking and provide a postal code

Children

The App is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). The App does not contain content inappropriate for children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version at this URL and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be surfaced inside the App on the next launch after the change.
